Melanotan 1 (MT-1)
Melanotan 1 (MT-1) is a lab-made version of the natural hormone α-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Researchers use this strong chemical only in labs, and it is not for human use, medical treatment, or cosmetic purposes. Its structure, [Nle4, D-Phe7]-α-MSH, gives scientists a stable and pure compound for controlled tests.
MT-1 has a formula of C78H111N21O19 and comes with a purity level of ≥99%. It usually looks like a white or off-white dry powder. As a lab-made peptide, it is useful in many studies. For example, researchers test MT-1 for its role in skin coloring, how it activates melanocytes, and how it interacts with MC1R receptors.
In addition, these studies give insight into skin color changes, melanin pathways, and ways the skin may protect itself from light. Compared to natural α-MSH, MT-1 shows stronger and longer-lasting effects. Because of this, it is a better option for studies on skin coloring.
However, labs that use Melanotan 1 must also follow strict safety rules. Store it at -20°C for long-term use. After mixing, keep it between 2-8°C for short-term use. Furthermore, always protect the product from light and moisture.
Important Notice: The FDA, EMA, and other groups have not approved Melanotan 1 for medical use. Therefore, only trained researchers should handle it under proper rules. It is for lab studies only. Buyers must take full responsibility for safe storage and correct use.
